Basura

Teton Valley Community Recycling has a fundraiser every year called the 'Trash Bash' which includes a silent auction of handmade items and a Trashion Show. The creativity is amazing- birdhouses, toliet seat clocks, re-melted glass into candlesticks, art made of leftover Easter Peeps. It's too hilarious.

My friends and I modeled in the Trashion Show and had a great time backstage with all the other Teton Valley Supermodels.

I've spent the last 3 weeks collecting bottlecaps to construct a garment (thanks to Eric, JJ and Bennett for looking out for me!). At 3:30 on Saturday, I had to send Maz out for an emergency run so I could finish! He went to every establishment in Driggs and did not come back empty handed. You are a lifesaver, Maz.

Quality time with the glue gun.

Ta da!

The haute couture is auctioned off on the runway and the winner leaves with a great new outfit.

See you next year!

Loving Mud

I wasn't quite ready for winter to be over on Sunday. After all, it just started for me.

Because now I have to live through others' shedding-the-cocoon experiences of Spring and hang, hang, hang on tight for summer.

Melting snow has uncovered a variety of construction transgressions.

And a reminder that we live in a neighborhood formerly known as Glacier.

So for now, I will just love mud.

Slednecking

Saturday was the 'Snow King Hillclimb' which is an uphill snowmobile slalom race that attracts snowmobilers from around the country to Jackson, WY. It was definitely a new sub-culture for me- it sure was great people watching and fun to see the sledders blast up the ski slope.

'Hill Help' stationed on the slope to catch snowmobiles that don't make it.

We had a great bird's eye view from the chair lift.

A mini- snowmobile course at the Fairgrounds.

Arctic Cat and Polaris jackets abound.

Nick and Anna channel Lee Greenwood.

Victory. Dry, Dirty and Up.

Jen and Randy started remodeling their house about the same time we started building. Jay and Randy thought they would inject some motivation into the projects with a bet- whoever gets their Certificate of Occupancy first, is gifted 2 martinis of the winner's choice.

It came down to 36 hours...

Congrats to the Zung-Bloughs who are also enjoying all the hard work they put into their beautiful, new house.

Always the to-do list

It was busy around Paiute last week. Cat and CD are loads of laughs and aren't even bitter after we put them to work staining and hanging drywall. Thanks for the help making our house more ready for visitors!

Eureka to Driggs Express

Welcome CD and Catherine!

CD and Cat have seen the evolution of our dwellings in Teton Valley. You'll have to ask them what they like best!

On the way home, we stopped at the National Elk Refuge, where they have sleigh rides out into the midst of the migrating elk herd. It was a perfect day for the educational portion of the week.

The forecast is full of snow for the beginning of the week. Wish us luck for powder days.

Winter Fun

Our first house guest has arrived! Kathy and Maz used to work together in Boston and she is out here for an annual ski trip. Yesterday, we watched the freeskiing competition at Targhee.

And the clouds roll over the Tetons.

I don't know how you could possibly do this in a car, but this is at the end of our driveway.

Back on the Boards

After a long hiatus, I have returned to Targhee! It was a telemark skier invasion on Sunday, but I was still able to hang.

Maz rips it down the bumps.

Cathy, E and Jen enjoy the sun at the Trap.
